To obtain feedback on proposed changes to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice or the Real Property Appraiser Qualification Criteria, the Appraisal Standards Board and Appraiser Qualifications Board issue Exposure Drafts. Additionally, the Appraisal Practices Board issues Exposure Drafts prior to releasing Valuation Advisories. Exposure Drafts always have comment deadlines, and the Boards read and consider each comment received prior to making any changes.
Appraisal Practices Board (APB)
The Appraisal Practices Board (APB) is charged with the responsibility of identifying and issuing opinions on Recognized Valuation Methods and Techniques, which may apply to all disciplines within the appraisal profession. The APB will vet an issue by issuing exposure drafts and will adopt guidance that may include more than one recognized method or technique for a specific topic. The APB reads and discusses each comment that they receive, so please take some time to read the current exposure drafts and send in your comments!
