In 2023, The Appraisal Foundation Board of Trustees completed a comprehensive review to ensure the Foundation’s governance structure followed best practices and upheld the public trust. As a result, a new opportunity for collaboration with the Foundation was developed: Partners. Partners are nonprofit organizations that have committed to work with The Appraisal Foundation to uphold public trust in the appraisal profession through communication and collaboration. Partner organizations have the ability to nominate individuals to become Partner Trustees on the Foundation Board of Trustees, but there is no direct appointment. Final selections of all trustees are made by the Board of Trustees in consultation with the Trustee Nominating Committee. There is no cost associated with being a partner of The Appraisal Foundation. The Foundation only asks that partners commit to a shared mission of upholding public trust in the appraisal profession and collaborate with one another to work toward that goal. Organizations looking to become partners should review the following documents and fill out an application. All applications will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee of the Board of Trustees. Partner applicants will then be presented to the Board of Trustees who must approve the partner organization by a two-thirds vote. In order for a Partner to nominate a candidate for the Board of Trustees, they must ensure their application to become a partner has been submitted by the opening of the trustee nominating cycle in January.
