Welcome to the section of the Foundation website developed specifically for AQB Certified USPAP Instructors. Here you will find all that you need to keep your students current with USPAP as well as complete information on how to become a USPAP Instructor.
The AQB USPAP Instructor Certification Program was implemented in February 2002 as one component of revisions that the Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB) adopted to the Real Property Appraiser Qualification Criteria on October 27, 2000.
The program, a formal process to certify USPAP Instructors to teach the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), was adopted in an effort to improve the overall quality of USPAP instruction for all appraisal disciplines.
Since January 1, 2003, only AQB Certified USPAP Instructors have been permitted to teach the National USPAP Courses (15-hour and 7-hour courses).
USPAP Instructors should be aware that in order for a real property appraiser to receive state education credit for attending a National USPAP Course, the USPAP Instructor must be a state certified general or residential appraiser.
In order to become an AQB Certified USPAP Instructor, you must first submit a USPAP Instructor Program application to The Appraisal Foundation, have your application approved by the Foundation, register for the Instructor Certification Course, and successfully complete the course and exam.
NOTE: If you would like to apply to the AQB USPAP Instructor Certification Program, please contact Adam Turek, Publications & Programs Coordinator, at adam@appraisalfoundation.org or (202) 624-3056 for an application.
