The Appraisal Foundation Honors Gary Taylor as Recipient of the Chair’s Public Service Award

Washington, DC – December 20, 2017 – Gary P. Taylor of Fort Hill, South Carolina was recently selected as the recipient of The Appraisal Foundation Chair’s Public Service Award. The award was presented by the Board of Trustees’ immediate past chair, David Layne, at the Fall Meeting of the Board of Trustees in Scottsdale, Arizona.
In presenting the award Mr. Layne said, “Gary Taylor has had a wonderful career in his chosen profession. He represents the best our professional community has to offer and exemplifies The Appraisal Foundation’s mission to advance both the public’s trust in the valuation profession and in promoting professionalism.”
Gary has served The Appraisal Foundation for over a decade in various roles, most notably as a member, Vice Chair, Chair of the Appraiser Qualifications Board, and as a past Chair of the Appraisal Practices Board. Gary has also served as a reviewer for The Appraisal Foundation’s Course Approval Program (CAP).
In addition to his board service at The Appraisal Foundation, Gary was President of the Appraisal Institute in 2004. He has served in a variety of education- and publication-related positions for the Appraisal Institute and has been awarded a number of honors from the Appraisal Institute.
The Appraisal Foundation Chair’s Public Service Award was established in 2005 to recognize individuals who have worked with the Foundation and have gone above and beyond the call of duty for the benefit of valuation profession in the United States.
