Appraisal Standards Board Issues Fourth Exposure Draft for the 2020-21 USPAP
Webinar March 14th; Public Meeting April 5th in Kansas City
For Immediate Release
January 24, 2019
(Washington, DC) – The Appraisal Standards Board, an independent board of The Appraisal Foundation, issued today the Fourth Exposure Draft for the 2020-21 edition of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). The Board also announced that its next public meeting will be April 5, 2019 in Kansas City, Missouri. Final adoption for the 2020-21 USPAP is anticipated at that time.
“The ASB is proposing a set of changes that are more narrowly focused than those proposed in earlier exposure drafts, which delineated one set of minimum reporting standards that would apply to all appraisal reports,” said 2019 Appraisal Standards Board Chair Wayne Miller. “The intent is to ensure that minimum reporting requirements continue to protect public trust in the appraisal profession, while not creating impediments for appraisers.”
“The comment period for the Fourth Exposure Draft opens today,” said The Appraisal Foundation Vice President of Appraisal Issues John Brenan. “ASB Chair Wayne Miller and I will host a webinar on March 14th to discuss the changes included in this draft and answer questions. We encourage everyone to submit comments.” The Kansas City meeting is open to the public, and can be attended either in person or by live stream. Registration for the meeting is now open.
